Being locked up all of those years had taken its toll on me, and now that I was free, there was a lot that I had to get adjusted too. Besides, dealing with my daughter’s murder, I realized that the street life had changed drastically. Biggs brought me up to speed quickly, and that was when I decided that I wanted no parts of it. I was in my early forties and this shit was for the birds.

Since being released, lots of women had thrown themselves at me. Still in perfect shape, women were immediately attracted to my good looks and physique but the attraction was not mutual. See, besides Shannon and Maria, I had not been with a lot of woman prior. I had no desire to have lots of notches on my belt because fucking bitches was not my style. I was a relationship man who longed for love and loyalty. Bedding multiple women who had no substance was not what I was going to start doing now.

However, something would have to give and real soon. The other day when I went over to visit and check on Lyna, something occurred that I had not planned on. While I waited in her living room while she fixed me something to drink, I thought back on the day that I had met her and her deceased husband, Daleo. The unique couple brought some liveliness into the life that Maria and I were living, and we all were once thick as thieves. Lyna was always beautiful, but back in the days, she had a more boring approach to herself. Daleo had once told me that he wanted her to remain a plane Jane so that no other nigga would pay too much attention to her.

On the other hand, my wife, Maria, was much more flamboyant and attention seeking. Her Latina curves were always on display and her flirty nature was always the talk amongst us. Still, I loved every moment of it until I realized the change in her and Daleo’s relationship. These times was always when Daleo and Lyna were around, which, at first, I thought Maria was maturing. But when we get home and things would go back to normal, I started to suspect things. And that’s how I started to believe that she was cheating.

It was not hard for me to confirm my suspicions, but I honestly did not know what to do. Maria had taken me back after my infidelity had resulted in Sa’Naya, so I was hopeful that we could get past it. The night that I ended up killing her, I was going to sit down and talk with her to let her know that I was aware of her affair but we could move past it.
